The latest 2027 NFL mock draft lands multiple offensive weapons and a defensive foundation for the New York Giants.
The New York Giants have an opportunity to add some serious young talent to their roster in the 2027 NFL Draft. In this latest seven-round simulation, the Giants address two important areas on the opening two days before using their remaining picks to add depth along the defensive line, offensive line, and secondary.

The mock was completed using the A to Z Sports Mock Draft Simulator
, with the draft order based on current Super Bowl odds rather than the NFL standings. With the college football season still underway, these selections offer an early look at how the Giants could approach the draft as the board continues to evolve.
The simulator gave New York a B+ for its first-round selection of Ellis Robinson IV and an A- for its second-round pick of Reed Harris. Those two selections set the tone for a class built around improving the defense and giving the offense another weapon.

New York doesn't have a fifth-round selection in this simulation, so making the most of its early picks will be particularly important. The Giants come away with six players, including two cornerbacks and two wide receivers.
The Giants use their first-round pick to address the secondary, selecting Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson IV. It's a position worth investing in, and Robinson has the talent to develop into a long-term starter in New York.

Robinson was a Freshman All-American in 2025 after recording four interceptions and seven pass breakups. He's continued to make plays in 2026, adding another interception against Vanderbilt. At around 6-foot and 180 pounds, he has the coverage instincts to compete with NFL receivers, though adding strength will be important as he prepares for the next level.
The Giants need young defensive backs who can hold up against the NFC's talented passing attacks. Robinson would give them a promising corner to develop, and his ball skills make him an appealing No. 7 option. The simulator gave this selection a B+ grade, and the appeal is easy to see.
The Giants turn to the offense in the second round, selecting Arizona State wide receiver Reed Harris. This is another strong fit, especially if New York wants to give its quarterback more help and add a receiver with a different physical profile.

Harris stands 6-foot-5 and weighs around 220 pounds, giving him the size to challenge defensive backs on contested catches and in the red zone. He's coming off a productive start to the 2026 season, with 47 receptions for 800 yards and eight touchdowns through six games. His 17 yards per catch also shows that he's capable of making plays downfield rather than serving strictly as a possession receiver.
The Giants would be getting a receiver who can use his frame to create mismatches, particularly against smaller corners. Pairing Harris with the team's existing receiving options would give the offense another way to attack defenses.
A second-round pick is a reasonable investment in a player with his size and production. The simulator agreed, giving Harris an A- grade.

New York gets back to work on defense in the third round, selecting Oklahoma defensive tackle Jayden Jackson.
The interior defensive line is a position where depth matters. Teams need defensive tackles who can hold their ground against the run, keep offensive linemen occupied, and generate pressure from the middle of the pocket. Jackson would have a chance to compete for a rotational role while developing into a more consistent NFL contributor.

The third round is a sensible place to take a shot on an interior defender. If Jackson can help the Giants become more difficult to run against while giving their edge rushers cleaner opportunities to attack the quarterback, this pick will have served its purpose.
New York already addressed the secondary with Robinson. Adding Jackson gives the defense another young player at a different level, helping the Giants spread their investments across the unit.
The Giants finally address the offensive line in the fourth round, taking Youngstown State tackle Desmeal Leigh.

Leigh is an intriguing prospect because of his size and experience. Listed around 6-foot-6 to 6-foot-7 and 325 pounds, he has been a fixture at left tackle for Youngstown State and entered the 2026 season with extensive starting experience. His physicality and ability to generate force at the point of attack give him a foundation to work with at the next level.
The transition from the FCS to the NFL will be a challenge, and Leigh will need to show he can handle the speed and power of professional pass rushers. His footwork, balance, and consistency will be important areas to watch as the draft process progresses.
Still, the fourth round is a good spot for New York to invest in offensive line depth. If Leigh can develop into a reliable tackle, the Giants could get meaningful value from this selection.

The Giants double up at cornerback by selecting BYU's Evan Johnson in the sixth round.
Johnson has a track record of making plays on the ball. In 2025, he recorded five interceptions and eight pass breakups, earning first-team All-Big 12 recognition from Sports Info Solutions. He also finished with 47 tackles, showing that he can contribute beyond coverage.
Those numbers make him an interesting late-round option for a team looking to add competition in the secondary. Johnson would have an opportunity to battle for a roster spot, contribute on special teams, and work his way into the defensive rotation.

Taking Robinson in the first round and Johnson in the sixth gives New York two chances to improve its cornerback room without using all its premium selections on one position.
The Giants close out their draft by returning to the wide receiver position, selecting Northwestern's Griffin Wilde.
Wilde has been productive for the Wildcats in 2026, recording 39 catches for 615 yards and four touchdowns through six games. He's averaging 15.8 yards per reception and 80.3 receiving yards per game, making him a player who has consistently helped Northwestern move the ball through the air.

This is a worthwhile late-round gamble for New York. After taking Harris in the second round, the Giants add another receiver who could compete for a spot in the rotation. Wilde's production suggests he can make plays downfield, and he'll have a chance to show that his game can translate against NFL competition.
Sixth-round picks aren't guaranteed to make an impact, but finding a receiver who can contribute on offense and special teams would be a positive outcome.
Final grade: A promising start for the Giants
The Giants come away from this simulation with six players and a clear plan: improve the secondary, give the offense another receiving threat, and add depth to the defensive and offensive lines.

Robinson is the headliner. A first-round cornerback with his ball skills and pedigree would give New York a young defensive back to build around. Harris is another exciting selection, bringing size and production to the receiving room after a strong start to his season at Arizona State.
Jackson and Leigh address two important positions in the trenches, while Johnson and Wilde provide additional competition at cornerback and wide receiver in the sixth round.
There are still questions. The Giants don't select a linebacker or edge rusher in this simulation, and Leigh will need to prove he can handle the jump from Youngstown State to the NFL. But the team manages to address several needs without forcing every pick into a single position group.

The verdict: Robinson and Harris give this class a strong foundation. If both become regular starters, and one of the mid- or late-round picks develops into a dependable contributor, the Giants could look back on this as a productive draft.
