If we're talking about young receivers on the Green Bay Packers ' roster, former first-round pick Matthew Golden is the first to come to mind.
Golden is expected to be Green Bay 's WR3 this season behind Christian Watson and Jayden Reed . Heck, speaking of young wideouts, it's not like either Watson or Reed are all that old themselves. Watson is 27 and Reed is 26. They're right in their NFL prime.
There has also been some conversation around second-year wideout Savion Williams and there's a decent amount of curiosity surrounding undrafted free agent rookie J. Michael Sturdivant .
It appears as if there's a lot to talk to when it comes to the young wideouts on Green Bay's roster, but one name that has not been brought up at all is second-year wide receiver Isaiah Neyor .
He's not been mentioned until head coach Matt LaFleur recently brought him up as someone who has been flashing a bit. The former undrafted free agent and Nebraska Cornhusker has apparently been looking good in OTAs and in minicamp.
"I'd say it's night and day for him. He's really shown a lot of flashes of excellence," LaFleur told the media on Thursday ( h/t Lombardi Ave ). "Another big, long guy that can run. You can never have enough of those guys, especially at that position, so I'm excited about what's to come for training camp for him."
Neyor is 6-foot-4, 218 pounds, so he certainly qualifies as a "big, long guy".
As mentioned, he went undrafted out of Nebraska in 2025. The San Francisco 49ers picked him up in the spring after the draft, but he barely made it through training camp before being cut.
When San Francisco let Neyor go, the Packers picked him up and ultimatly stashed him on the practice squad. They even elevated him to the active roster for the Wild Card matchup with the Chicago Bears , but he didn't accumulate any stats.
So what's there to be excited about if you're LaFleur and the Packers?
Again, size caught be taught at wide receiver, so that's a plus for Neyor. LaFleur also mentioned his speed, and it's worth noting that he ran a 4.40-second 40-yard dash at 2025 combine.
Neyor signed with Wyoming out of high school as a 2-star prospect from Arlington, Texas. He caught 44 passes for 455 yards and 12 touchdowns in his sophomore season before transferring to Texas.
His junior season (2022) was cut short by a torn ACL in the preseason. In 2023, he played in only the Longhorns' season opener, catching one pass for 14 yards.
Neyor transferred to Nebraska for his senior season in 2024 and caught 34 passes for 455 yards and five touchdowns, which led the team. In his Nebraska debut against UTEP, he caught six passes for 121 yards and a touchdown. Against Illinois later that season, he caught four passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
He's got untapped potential, without a doubt, so it makes sense that LaFleur is excited to see what Neyor can do in training camp.
Could he make the roster in 2026?
That still seems like a long-shot, but he certainly has a fan in the head coach.
