- How Bray Hubbard celebrated his first Alabama football interception: 'I didn't know what to do'
Bray Hubbard knew the weight of his first career interception for Alabama football.
On the first defensive drive of the second half, Hubbard knew the momentum swing he secured in the defensive backfield, one that helped the Crimson Tide dominate Saturday afternoon in a 34-0 win against Missouri .
But once Hubbard actually caught the interception, he had no idea what to do.
"I just caught it and was like, 'Yo, it's crazy,'" Hubbard said. "I kind of didn't know what to do. That's why y'all saw me run 70 yards across the field. I don't know. I didn't know what to do."
In his first start for Alabama in place of the injured Keon Sabb , Hubbard had seven tackles along with an interception, a moment he said was much-needed, especially in the first drive of the game.
"That's what you want, you want to give the offense back the ball," Hubbard said. "It's a battle of field position you really want to win in games like this. It's a big momentum swing when you have a game changer like that."
Hubbard's interception was one of three for Alabama football Saturday afternoon joining Malachi Moore and Qua Russaw . Overall, the Crimson Tide recorded its second shutout of the season and its first in SEC play since 2020.
And while Moore also had an interception for Alabama, he knew exactly what Hubbard felt in the moment when he secured his first.
"I know he blacked out," Moore said. "A lot of them, you black out. Especially your first one, you're not seeing, you don't even remember when you watch it on film."
But Moore said he remembered exactly what he was doing when Hubbard recorded the turnover.
"I was going to chase him and congratulate my brother on his first career interception," Moore said.
