WOLFFORTH — Chase Campbell doesn't care who's in attendance in the Tiger Pit. He's going to be aggressive no matter what.
Whether it's students, parents or a trio of Texas Tech football coaches after his services on the gridiron watching Campbell play, he wants to set the tone, challenge defenses and do what he can to get his team the win.
That's the exact mentality the Frenship basketball team needed on Friday night. Beginning District 2-6A play against a talented and physical San Angelo Central squad, the Tigers found themselves in a double-digit hole midway through the second quarter. Campbell upped his aggression from there as he and Patton Pinkins got the deficit to one at the half.

Campbell took the lead from there, scoring 16 points in the third quarter alone to give Frenship the lead for good. The Bobcats hung around until the end before the Tigers could walk away with the 75-69 victory.
"Obviously they were kind of taking away Patton, so it was good," Frenship head coach Paul Page said. "It opened up some lanes for Chase and he was able to do that and finish. That's who he is. That's what he's capable of. He's great off the dribble. He shoots the ball and he's just got that high motor."
The big example of Campbell's aggressiveness came in the first half. Sprinting down court on a fastbreak with a defender between him and the rim, Campbell rose up from a foot outside the lane to the left, looking for the poster dunk.
It didn't quite work out. The ball slipped from his fingers and careened off the rim, but Campbell stuck with the play to chase down the rebound.
"I've pulled it off plenty of times," Campbell said of the dunk attempt. "Just setting the tone and letting everybody know I'm here and I'm ready."
Campbell (game-high 28 points) and Pinkins (26 points) accounted for 31 of Frenship's 37 points in the second half. The Tiger defense also settled in a bit, holding Central's versatile forward Talmadge Taylor to just four points in the second half after he had 12 in the first.

Page said he liked his team getting into a close contest to open district play and sees it being beneficial to his team in the long run.
"We knew that tonight would be tough," Page said, "so it was good for us and we were glad to be home to start it off. It was a good win against a really good San Angelo Central team."
