The Cleveland Cavaliers have a new television home.
The Cavs are one of several professional sports franchises that will have their games aired on Amazon Prime Video.
Diamond Sports Group, which broadcasts Cavs games on FanDuel Sports Ohio, reached a multi-year deal with Amazon to place their apps on Prime Video as add-on channels.
That means viewers will have to pay extra to watch Cavs games on Prime. Pricing details weren't made immediately available.
The news comes a day before Diamond appears in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Thursday.
"Partnering with Prime Video, one of the largest streaming destinations in the U.S., and making FanDuel Sports Network available as part of their add on subscriptions, creates a tremendous opportunity for us to expand our reach and better connect with viewers," David Preschlack, CEO of Diamond, said in a release. "Our partnerships with Prime Video and FanDuel combine with our agreements with team, league and distribution partners to support a transformative reorganization of our business, and a leading linear and digital offering that will continue driving long-term value and enhanced experiences for our partners and fans."
Diamond has been partaking in a flurry of activity of late. In October the company partnered with FanDuel to start the FanDuel Sports Network . The beleaguered broadcaster announced the intention to drop the broadcast rights to Cleveland Guardians games , among other MLB teams.
The Cavs are one of 13 NBA teams where Diamond owns the broadcasting rights. Details on when exactly Cavs games will be on Amazon weren't immediately available. Sports Business Journal also suggested that Diamond could move its broadcast rights to other streaming services.
