MLB Pipeline this week revealed its updated top 100 rankings of baseball's top prospects, and two Detroit Tigers jumped into the top 10 late in the summer.
Outfielder Max Clark , the Tigers' 2023 first-round pick, is the No. 7 prospect on MLB Pipeline's ranking, and right-handed starter Jackson Jobe , the team's 2021 first-rounder, is No. 8. Both were the third overall pick in their respective draft.
West Michigan (High-A) infielder Kevin McGonigle was not ranked in the previous edition in January, but is now at No. 33, and Tigers rookie league shortstop Bryce Rainer , their 2024 first-round pick, is ranked No. 61. Toledo (Triple-A) infielder Jace Jung slid four spots to No. 64.
McGonigle just suffered a fractured hand and his season is likely finished. He hit .309 with five home runs in 74 games for Low-A Lakeland (60 games) and the Whitecaps (14 games).
The Tigers in January's preseason edition had four players in MLB Pipeline's top 100: Clark (No. 13), infielder Colt Keith (No. 22), Jobe (No. 25) and Jung (No. 60).
