Gabe (Alvarez, Erie's manager) has done a great job with a lot of good players there, and Colt gets an opportunity for a new level."

"When you get to that next step, he's even more on the radar than ever," Hinch said. "But he's got a lot to work on, on the defensive side, on the baserunning side. Facing different-style pitching will be new for him."
Keith faced one pitcher younger than him, Colorado Rockies prospect Case Williams , during his 59 games with Double-A Erie, stepping into the batter's box against an older pitcher in 274 of his 276 plate appearances.
Back in November, while playing in the Arizona Fall League, Keith expressed his desire to join the Tigers for his MLB debut at some point in the 2023 season . After raking in Double-A Erie, he has advanced one step closer to accomplishing his goal.
"We're all rooting for Colt," Hinch said. "He made a great impression in spring (training), and he's off to a good start."
