Reynolds was the Lions ' third-leading receiver last season with 608 yards and five touchdowns on 40 catches. He played with Goff in 2017-20 with the Los Angeles Rams , and joined the Lions' midseason in 2021 as a waiver claim from the Tennessee Titans .

The Lions were interested in re-signing Reynolds for 2024, but were reluctant to overspend on a player who likely would have opened next season as their No. 3 receiver.
The Lions return leading receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and are expecting Jameson Williams to play a bigger role on offense in his third year. Tight end Sam LaPorta , who was second on the team with 86 catches and 889 yards last season, and running back Jahmyr Gibbs also return after standout rookie campaigns.
