Ohio State is in the process of signing the first recruiting class of the Jake Diebler era . The first-year Buckeyes coach has overseen a roster overhaul during the offseason, bringing in nine new players for the 2024-25 season including a three-man freshman class .
November 13 marks the opening of the early signing period for men's college basketball. Ohio State has a two-man 2025 recruiting class featuring two four-star prospects: Dorian Jones and Amare Bynum .

The two are likely to be the only ones signing with Ohio State during the early period, which lasts until Nov. 20. After that, players cannot sign with a Division I school until the spring, when they have from April 16-May 21.
It's unclear if Ohio State will then add anyone else in its 2025 class other than Bynum and Jones.
Here's what you need to know about the 6-8, 210-pound Bynum, an Omaha, Nebraska, native who is playing his senior season at Branson (Missouri) Link Academy.
Where is Amare Bynum ranked?
According to 247Sports.com, Bynum is the No. 102 national prospect, the No. 16 center in the nation and the No. 5 player in Missouri.

ESPN ranks Bynum as a four-star prospect, the No. 17 center in the nation and the No. 2 player from Nebraska. It should be noted that Bynum is projected as a power forward and not a center.

When did Amare Bynum commit to Ohio State?
Bynum announced his decision Oct. 22 after what had been a busy fall. In addition to an official visit to Ohio State on Oct. 4, he took official visits to Nebraska on Sept. 6, Iowa (Sept. 13), Colorado (Sept. 20) and Xavier (Oct. 11). He had planned to visit LSU on Sept. 27 but canceled that visit.

"They came up to see me a lot," he told The Dispatch when asked why he picked the Buckeyes. "More than anybody else, I would say. Diebler did. And Diebler called me a lot. As a head coach that's what made me lean more to them."
What does Jake Diebler think of Amare Bynum?
In a press release, Ohio State's coach had this to say.
"I'm excited to welcome Amare to our Buckeye family," Diebler said. "He's got great energy and great enthusiasm for the game and he's someone that you just love to be around. Amare embodies what our program is about on and off the court.

"His versatility is what makes him special. He can handle the ball, he is comfortable both on the perimeter and inside, while being able to guard multiple positions. Buckeye Nation is going to enjoy watching him in Scarlet and Gray."
Where is Ohio State's 2025 class ranked nationally?
At the start of the early signing period, Ohio State's class with Jones and Bynum was ranked No. 24 nationally according to On3.com and No. 37 nationally in the 247Sports composite.
