The Major League Soccer Players Association released its updated salary guide Thursday, providing information on player compensation around the league as of Sept. 13.
Nashville SC has three of the top 25 earners in MLS. Forward Hany Mukhtar , who in March signed an extension through 2026 with an option for 2027, is the eighth-highest- paid player in the league with total annualized compensation of $5,211,667 on top of a base salary of $3,800,000. Defender Walker Zimmerman (21st) earned $3,456,979 in total compensation and forward Sam Surridge (24th) made $2,907,639.
The annualized figure includes all guaranteed bonuses, including signing bonuses, marketing bonuses and agent fees, but does not include performance bonuses.
Nashville's total payroll of $21,864,490 ranks fifth in the league, behind Inter Miami ($41,708,290), Toronto FC ($31,808,632), Los Angeles FC ($22,085,924) and the LA Galaxy ($21,962,879). Inter Miami's payroll is boosted heavily by superstar Lionel Messi , whose base salary of $12 million and total earnings of $20,446,667 make him by far the highest-paid player in MLS.
After its three designated players, Nashville's next-highest paid players are midfielder Randall Leal ($1,115,000), midfielder Sean Davis ($1,024,000), defender Shaq Moore ($881,500), defender Jack Maher ($795,467), forward Tyler Boyd ($775,000), midfielder Aníbal Godoy ($721,250), goalkeeper Joe Willis ($658,333) and midfielder Dru Yearwood ($597,250).
The average total guaranteed compensation for an MLS player in 2024 is $596,226.53.
Midfielder Patrick Yazbek , Nashville's lone signing of the summer transfer window, has a base salary of $375,000 and guaranteed compensation of $491,013. Yazbek signed from Norwegian club Viking FK for a fee reported to be over $3 million.
Forward Jonathan Pérez , whom Nashville acquired on loan from the Galaxy in July, is under contract with LA for $275,000 ($308,000 guaranteed). It is unclear if Nashville is paying none, some or all of Pérez's wages.
