- Johnny Gaudreau: Columbus Blue Jackets holding press conference on player's death, next steps for NHL team
The Columbus Blue Jackets continue to grieve the death of star forward Johnny Gaudreau .
Blue Jackets president of hockey operations and general manager Don Waddell and select players will hold a press conference 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Founders Club at Nationwide Arena.
Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew, were killed Thursday when they were struck by a driver who admitted to New Jersey State Police that he'd been drinking alcohol before the wreck.
Johnny Gaudreau was 31.
Before Wednesday's press conference, the Blue Jackets had only released a team statement immediately after Gaudreau's death was announced.
Many Blue Jackets players posted memorials of Gaudreau on social media shortly after the announcement.

The team is also holding a public vigil Wednesday evening.
