- How Kalen DeBoer, Kane Wommack, Alabama football handled Malachi Moore outburst
No suspension is coming for Alabama football safety Malachi Moore, coach Kalen DeBoer said Monday.
After his outburst at the end of Alabama 's 40-35 loss to Vanderbilt, DeBoer said "we have handled" Moore, who he said has "gone above and beyond in owning, taking ownership (of) it" including an "unprompted" apology he posted on social media.
But that's not the Moore DeBoer wanted to showcase Monday morning.

The Alabama coach called Moore a "first-class guy" who understands the platform he has in his five years with the Crimson Tide .
"A lot of eyes are on our program, a lot of eyes are on him, and this guy plays hard for himself, his teammates, but this program means so much to him," DeBoer said. "It doesn't make it right. It doesn't make it right by any means, some of what his actions were. But I want people to understand also that he's had my and our back since Day One, and there comes a point too where sometimes as things play out, you've got to have your guy's back as well. And understand that we all make mistakes, and we all just have to own up to it. We're doing that, and we'll continue to move forward."
DeBoer called Moore "rock solid" and "a critical, critical piece" of Alabama football since the new coaching staff arrived in January.
"When a lot of guys chose to leave, this guy stood firm," DeBoer said.
Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack said he's not sure "anybody cares more about Alabama football" than Moore.
"In that moment, when emotions were running high, certainly he has been held accountable for some of the actions and the penalty that incurred there at the end of the game," Wommack said. "I think Malachi's handled it really well with his teammates. We are continuing to work to make sure we address it the right way across the board."
Wommack said Moore has been "incredibly supportive, a great leader for our players and really does things to the level and standard we'd want them to."
When Wommack was asked about the moment where Moore was yelling toward the Alabama sideline when the Alabama defensive coordinator was seemingly substituting Moore out, Wommack said he was "going to try and settle (Moore) down just a little bit."
"Sometimes in those situations, it's better just to let them calm at a later time," Wommack said. "But again, he's handled things really well since that point and has taken the level of accountability that coach DeBoer implemented and has done a really good job moving forward."
In Saturday's 40-35 loss to Vanderbilt, Moore had an outburst that included him kicking the football off the line of scrimmage, which led to a Crimson Tide penalty. He also was seen yelling toward the Alabama sideline and threw his mouth-guard across the field.
Moore posted an apology on social media Monday.
