BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer did not have an update on wide receiver Cole Adams' status Monday after he left Saturday's win against Missouri .
Adams left with what DeBoer called a "lower extremity injury" against the Tigers, one the Alabama head coach expects to keep Adams out for some time.

But, before an appearance at the Birmingham Monday Morning Quarterback Club, DeBoer did give an indication of what the Crimson Tide 's approach will be moving forward at punt return in Adams' absence.
"With Ryan (Williams) and ( Jaylen Mbakwe ) in particular, just rotating those guys," DeBoer said. "Really, it's probably more about who we're comfortable with. There's a little bit with what we're tring to do specifically. (Mbakwe) is someone we're very comfortable with. We'll rotate Ryan in as well, so both of them are guys we trust."
Williams is second on the team with four punt returns for 31 yards. Mbakwe returned one punt against South Florida for 28 yards.
Adams was blocking on a 4-yard reception by tight end C.J. Dipree, and was hit from behind by a Missouri defender. Adams was helped off the field by the training staff. He was later carted off the field with a boot on his left foot.

Williams returned two punts for 15 yards against Missouri.
DeBoer was not tied to one taking over for the other at punt return.
"Some of it might just be the situation. We just looking to get it caught. Are we looking for an explosive play? Who seems comfortable back there? What's the week been like as far as those guys and their consistency?"
