Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer hates to say it. He's embarrassed to say it. He has no idea when the Crimson Tide 's "Dixieland Delight" tradition is during a game day.
"I thought it was happening between the third quarter and the fourth quarter, but it must happen another time," DeBoer said. "The lights go out and I'm thinking it's going to happen, and it doesn't happen. So I'm still learning myself."

But DeBoer said he did feel the fan presence during Alabama's 41-34 victory against Georgia Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium, something he called "a huge deal."

DeBoer got a preview of what the atmosphere would be like when he arrived on campus for an in-person interview on ESPN's "College GameDay," something he later previewed to his players.
"(I) just gave them a heads up that, 'Hey, you know, it's going to be a fun day. It's going to be a lot of energy,'" DeBoer said.

And as the Georgia game neared, it's something DeBoer and his players felt immediately.
"When we start pulling into the stadium, you instantaneously can feel it," DeBoer said. "I'm on that first bus with the guys. Their eyes were wide open and excited about what they were feeling and seeing. And then just throughout the game, I just can't tell you enough. I think there's just an energy.
"There's just something special about playing in Bryant-Denny."
Alabama 's next game is on the road Saturday against Vanderbilt. The Crimson Tide 's next home game will be Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. vs South Carolina .
