- LeBron James, son Bronny, make NBA history playing together for Lakers on Sunday
LeBron James made some history over the weekend, and his son Bronny was part of it.
For the first time in NBA history, a father-son duo played in the same game during the Los Angeles Lakers ' second preseason game on Sunday. LeBron sat out the Lakers' first preseason game.
The bow on top? Sunday was Bronny's 20th birthday.
The historic moment took place at the start of the second quarter.
"For a father, it means everything," LeBron James told reporters after the game. "For someone who didn't have that growing up, to be able to have that influence on your kids and have influence on your son. Be able to have moments with your son. And ultimately, to be able to work with your son. I think that's one of the greatest things that a father can ever hope for or wish for."
LeBron led the Lakers in scoring with 19 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Bronny, in 13 minutes played, went scoreless with four turnovers and two rebounds. He took one shot — a three-point attempt on a pass from LeBron.
