- Missouri football bowl projections: Where national media has Mizzou tabbed to play
By this time next Monday, there will be no more need to speculate.
But until then, let's ponder and project a little bit more.
Missouri football wrapped up its 2024 regular season with a 9-3 record after defeating Arkansas 28-21 on Saturday in a rare snow game on Faurot Field. Brady Cook ran in the go-ahead touchdown on a 30-yard QB draw with less than two minutes on the game clock. He then tossed a 2-point conversion to Luther Burden III in what was assumed to be the star wide receiver's final game as a Tiger.
Now, Eli Drinkwitz's team is a win in its bowl game from putting together back-to-back double-digit win seasons for just the third time in program history . The only other coach to manage the feat was Gary Pinkel.
Mizzou will learn its bowl destination during a live selection show Sunday, Dec. 8 on ESPN. The Tribune has already made its picks for its preferred matchups and destinations.
Until then, here's where the national media thinks Missouri is headed:

In their first season under head coach Fran Brown, the Orange knocked off CFP contender Miami on Saturday to finish the regular season 9-3.
ESPN's Kyle Bonagura projected Missouri to play Southern California in the Las Vegas Bowl, which is held Dec. 27 in the bright lights city.
His colleague, Mark Schlabach, has Mizzou pinned for the ReliaQuest Bowl in a matchup against Iowa. That game would take place on Dec. 31 in Tampa, Florida.
In its first year as a Big Ten member, USC finished the regular season 6-6 and a 4-5 conference mark. The Trojans are eligible for the Las Vegas Bowl because they are a legacy Pac-12 team, and those teams will fulfill their former conference's bowl obligations through 2025.
Iowa went 8-4 this season. The Tigers and Hawkeyes — nearly — have recent bowl history, as the two teams were supposed to match up in the 2020 Music City Bowl, but that game was canceled due to the pandemic.

Under first-year head coach Sherrone Moore, UM finished the regular season 7-5, a year after winning the national title.
Erick Smith of USA Today projects Mizzou to head to the Gator Bowl for a matchup with Louisville. The Cardinals dominated Kentucky 41-14 on Saturday to finish the regular season 8-4.
