According to the form, in his position, this salary is part of a 40-hour work week. The new role officially began March 1.
His employee class changed and is in a different department, while his "title/rank" went from "head coach" to "professional."
Last season, Saban was the highest-paid public-school coach in college football, earning $11.41 million from Alabama.
Saban retired in January after 17 seasons coaching the Crimson Tide. Kalen DeBoer was hired as his replacement. Alabama athletics director Greg Byrne described Saban's role as an "adviser." Saban now has an office at Bryant-Denny Stadium instead of the Mal Moore Athletic Facility, where football is housed.
