Nashville SC signed midfielder Amar Sejdic to a contract through the 2024 season with an option for 2025, the club announced Thursday.
Sejdic, 27, is a five-year MLS veteran who has played for the Montreal Impact (now CF Montreal) and Atlanta United in his career. He was a trialist with Nashville during the club's preseason camp in Florida and appeared in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Birmingham Legion FC .

Born in Berlin, Germany, to Bosnian parents, Sejdic moved to the United States with his family when he was 4 years old. He played at Maryland from 2015-18, scoring 23 goals in 78 games and leading the Terrapins to a national championship as a senior.
In 2019, Sejdic was drafted in the second round of the MLS SuperDraft by Montreal. He appeared in 22 regular-season matches for Montreal, scoring two goals, before being traded to Atlanta United midway through the 2021 season.
Sejdic played in 56 games and started 37 for Atlanta over the last three seasons, with four assists. Sejdic's statistics show an efficient passer from central midfield — for his career, he has completed 86.83 percent of his passes — who should fit in with a revamped group.
Nashville brought in Dru Yearwood in a December trade with the New York Red Bulls and let longtime captain Dax McCarty sign with Atlanta in free agency.

"Amar is a connector in midfield who is outstanding in possession and balances the other central players on our roster really well," Nashville SC general manager Mike Jacobs said in the club's release. "His mentality on the field as well as in the locker room makes him a really strong fit for our group."
