Nashville SC announced the signing of midfielder Matthew Corcoran on Tuesday.
Corcoran, who turns 19 on Feb. 17, spent the past three years with Birmingham Legion FC in the USL Championship and has made three appearances for the United States under-17 national team. He has spent the preseason on trial with Nashville as a non-roster invitee.
"Matthew is a bright talent with bags of potential," Nashville SC general manager Mike Jacobs said in a news release. "He is a true two-way midfielder who contributes on both sides of the ball, and his experiences as a professional and U.S. youth international have prepared him for this next step in his career."
Corcoran's contract runs through 2027 with options for 2028 and 2029.
Corcoran is a product of the FC Dallas youth academy, which is considered one of the top academies in MLS and has developed United States men's national team players including Weston McKennie , Ricardo Pepi and Shaq Moore , who played for Nashville from 2022-24 before being traded to Dallas in December. Corcoran joined Dallas in 2018 and made two appearances for the club's reserve side, North Texas SC, as a 15-year-old in 2021.
In 2022, Corcoran left FC Dallas to join Birmingham, where he totaled 54 appearances with a goal and four assists. He missed most of the 2024 season because of an injury.

Corcoran was named to the U.S. team for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia in November 2023. He made three starts in central midfield, including the United States' 3-2 loss to Germany in the round of 16. In January, he trained with the U.S. U-20 national team, which played Nashville in a preseason exhibition in Florida on Jan. 18.
