Carolina Panthers owners David and Nicole Tepper were in Charlotte for just one of Julius Peppers ' 10 seasons with the organization. But that's all they needed in finding out how big of an impact big. No. 90 had.
Yesterday afternoon, Peppers was officially enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. During his memorable and inspirational speech, the three-time First-team All-Pro and nine-time Pro Bowler carved out a special message for both David and Nicole . . .
Well, the recognition and respect is certainly mututal.
The Teppers released the following statement shortly after Peppers wrapped up:
"Congratulations to Julius Peppers on his well-earned induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As dynamic as Julius was on the field, he's even more special as a person and represents the best of the Panthers and the Carolinas. A fierce competitor who was selfless and extraordinarily driven to help the team win, there is no one more deserving of this honor."
Peppers' final campaign in Carolina (and in the NFL) came in 2018, the same year the Teppers took over the Panthers. The then-38-year-old recorded 5.0 of his franchise-leading 97.0 sacks that season.
