CLEVELAND — It just feels like a typical Browns-Steelers game, doesn't it?
The calendar is closing in on Thanksgiving. The forecast calls for dropping temperatures and possibly snow.
And the Browns are 2-8 and stuck in the basement of the AFC North and near the top of the draft order. The Steelers , meanwhile, are 8-2 and sitting atop the division and firmly in the playoff hunt.
Feels right, doesn't it? Unless you're a Browns fan but, then again, this should be something that's become normal since 1999.
The Browns do have some history on their side. They've won their last eight home games on "Thursday Night Football," while the Steelers have lost their last two Thursday night games against the Browns, both in Cleveland.
Here's how the three writers who follow the Browns for us, Chris Easterling , Nate Ulrich and Dan Kadar , view the team's Week 12 prime-time home game.
Browns vs. Steelers prediction: Who wins in NFL Week 12 Thursday night
EASTERLING: You could call this the ideal spot for the Browns to pull off an upset. They're at home on the short week. The Steelers, meanwhile, are on the same short week after having just played yet another physical installment in what is really the best rivalry in the AFC North against the Baltimore Ravens . It would be the perfect place for a team to stand up for itself. There are 20-plus years of examples of what team that typically turns out to be in this series. STEELERS 20, BROWNS 13
ULRICH:"Thursday Night Football" can get weird, so the Browns could stun the Steelers. A more logical outcome would be the Steelers taking care of business against an AFC North rival they have owned more often than not. STEELERS 17, BROWNS 13
KADAR:Football is a complex sport. But sometimes it can be easy to understand. The Steelers are good. The Browns are bad. Their records prove as much. Starting a journeyman at left tackle in a short week is bad news for the Browns. STEELERS 31, BROWNS 10
