Sunday's defeat should sting the Carolina Panthers for quite a bit. Nonetheless, there were some strong performances to go with the bad ones.
Here are the studs and duds from Week 13's overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .
Young, for the second straight outing, shined through a particularly pressure-filled approach from the opposing defense. He passed for a season-high 298 yards while recording both a passing and a rushing touchdown with zero turnovers.
Hubbard coughed up the game in overtime, fumbling on the Tampa Bay 30-yard line. He finished with 43 rushing yards, his second-fewest of the season, on 12 carries.
Thielen reeled in two of the most clutch catches you'll see—one a 25-yard touchdown to pull ahead late in the fourth quarter and the other a spectacular one-handed grab in overtime. He ended up recording season-highs in receptions (eight) and receiving yards (99).
Tremble stepped up in the absence of rookie Ja'Tavion Sanders, Carolina's primary pass catcher at the tight end spot. He posted a career-high 77 receiving yards on five catches.
The worst run defense in football remained exactly that on Sunday, relinquishing 236 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Rookie Bucky Irving led the way in carving up Carolina, rushing for a career-best 152 yards and a score.
Piñeiro left six points off the scoreboard with misses from 38 and 45 yards. He had connected on 16 of his 17 field goal attempts coming into Week 13.
