The Texas Tech football team added its second commitment out of the transfer portal Wednesday, each coming from the FCS level.
Earlier in the day, the Matador Club, Texas Tech's NIL collective, used social media to announce the addition of offensive lineman Hunter Zambrano out of Illinois State. Later, the Matador Club announced the commitment of North Dakota State transfer Cole Wisniewski.
Wisniewski (6-foot-4, 218 pounds) missed the 2024 season after undergoing foot surgery in August. He is coming off a 2023 campaign that saw the Sparta, Wisconsin, native switch from linebacker to safety.

The change paid off as Wisniewski tied the Missouri Valley Conference and NDSU single-season records with eight interceptions, earning first team FCS all-America honors. He started all 14 games for the Bison and totaled 92 tackles.
Injuries have been a factor of Wisniewski as he missed the first seven games of the 2022 season. He returned for the final eight contests, earning the start in the national championship game. Wisniewski previously played all 10 games of the 2020 season and started all 14 contests in 2021.
