- LOOK: VAR erases late Shaq Moore goal, cushion for Nashville SC vs. Messi, Inter Miami
Nashville SC's vital opportunity to create some cushion in the CONCACAF Champions Cup round-of-16 matchup with Inter Miami was denied late in Thursday's first leg at Geodis Park.
Shaq Moore 's 83rd-minute goal was eventually taken away by VAR (video review) for an offside by Moore in the buildup, with Nashville SC 's lead resigned to a 2-1 advantage.

Moore was just offside down the right side in the final third, gathering a pass, eventually cutting inside and tucking the ball into the bottom-right corner of the goal. But the USMNT-capped fullback was denied after a lengthy VAR, which appeared to come to the right conclusion.

It would have been a key third goal for Nashville SC heading into the second leg in Fort Lauderdale on March 13. Luis Suarez scored in second-half stoppage time to steal a 2-2 draw for Inter Miami in Nashville. Instead of a lead in the two-game series, Nashville needs to win at Inter Miami or draw with three or more goals to advance.

Jacob Shaffelburg's two goals put Nashville SC up 2-0, but Lionel Messi answered with a goal in the 53rd minute before Suarez's late equalizer.
