If ever there was a time for a spring training debut to live up to the hype, if was Jackson Jobe's appearance Tuesday for the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland, Florida.
The 21-year-old, who was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 MLB draft, was dominating in his inning of work, finishing off the Tigers' speedy 1-0 win with a pair of strikeouts and nine strikes thrown in 13 pitches.

Jobe earned a spot as the Tigers' top pitching prospect with a 2023 season in the minors in which he issued just SIX walks over 64 innings in 16 Rookie, Low-A, High-A and Double-A appearances. On Tuesday, he showed why, shutting down Twins batters with an array of nasty stuff.

But Jobe also mixed in breaking pitches at 96 mph and 86 mph ...
In case you missed it — the game wrapped up in just 121 minutes on Bally Sports Detroit — you'll want to check out the entire appearance.
Although Jobe is the Tigers' No. 1 pitching prospect (and No. 3 overall, behind outfielder Max Clark and infielder Colt Keith , according to MLB Pipeline ), he's just No. 25 on the top-100 list, albeit the No. 3 pitcher, behind Pittsburgh 's Paul Skenes (No. 3) and San Franciso's Kyle Harrison (No. 22).
