Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Tyson Campbell is the latest to receive a massive contract extension from the team this offseason, set to ink a four-year, $76.5 million contract extension. According to NFL Media's Ian Rappoport, the deal will include $53.4 million effectively guaranteed.
Campbell is the latest Jaguar to receive a new contract this offseason after linebacker Foye Oluokun , defensive lineman Josh Hines-Allen and quarterback Trevor Lawrence also inked deals to stay with the team long-term. Campbell is the third home-grown talent to receive a deal, joining Hines-Allen and Lawrence.
Paid: CB Tyson Campbell, Jacksonville Jaguars agree to 4-year deal worth $76.5 million
As pointed out by ESPN's Mike DiRocco , the Jaguars and owner Shad Khan have handed out $272.8 million guaranteed on home-grown players this offseason. The moves correlate strongly with Khan's offseason edict of using draft and development, not free agency , to continue the team's build moving forward.
Campbell's contract makes him the highest-paid cornerback in Jaguars history behind former Jags corner A.J. Bouye , who signed a five-year, $67.5M deal in 2017 to join the team via free agency.
Campbell was drafted by the Jaguars in 2021 with the first pick in the second round. He has played in 43 games, starting 42. He's accounted for 203 total tackles, 30 pass breakups and six interceptions.
