Ashveil Revealed As The First New Playable Character In Version 4.1 Of Honkai: Star Rail
Honkai: Star Rail has revealed the first playable character arriving in Version 4.1 of the game. Ashveil is the ace detective of the Ashen Detective Agency. He's a private eye who takes on all sorts of commissions from parent-teacher nights to hunting down Aeons.

What We Know So Far
Ashveil is a 5-star Lightning element character following the Path of the Hunt. He is the first Hunt character to be released since Version 3.4's Fate Collaboration event, and the second Lightning Hunt unit since the 4-star unit Moze in Version 2.5.
There's very little info on Ashveil as a whole, especially given how Version 4.0 has yet to drop. All we know so far is that he has a monkey as an assistant, and that he likely plays a pivotal role in the Phantasmoon Games on Planarcadia, perhaps even being one of the eight people bestowed with a mask to participate in the games.

Speculating Ashveil's Kit & Role
Given how little we know about the gameplay mechanics in the new Version outside of the basics of the Elation Path, it's hard to tell exactly what Ashveil's kit could be. However, given that he follows the Path of the Hunt, he's likely going to be a main DPS character that specializes in single-target burst DMG and likely scales off of CRIT.
Something of note about the Planarcadia characters whose kits have been revealed so far is that they have a lot to do with Skill Points. Yao Guang is capable of generating Skill Points for the party, while Sparxie spends a ton of them to buff up her attacks. Given how Sparkle, a character whose entire kit and buffs revolve around spending Skill Points, is also receiving a buff in Version 4.0, Ashveil may be an SP-hungry main DPS unit who can nuke down single foes at the cost of SP, similar to Version 3.4's Archer.
