How To Build a Green/White Deck for Edge of Eternities Limited Formats

How To Build a Green/White Deck for Edge of Eternities Limited Formats originally appeared on GameDaily .

Previously, in our Edge of Eternities pre-release deckbuilding guide , we covered each color combination's archetype. Now, this guide is a more in-depth look at building green/white decks for Edge of Eternities limited formats.

Green/White - +1/+1 Counters

In Edge of Eternities, green/white's archetype is pretty straightforward. In this set, this color combination focuses on putting +1/+1 counters on your creatures. I think this is one of the stronger color combinations in this set. Green/white is a combination with plenty of high synergy cards present in Edge of Eternities.

Signpost Uncommon

Haliya, Ascendant CadetMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

Haliya, Ascendant Cadet is the signpost uncommon for green/white in Edge of Eternities. Among the signpost uncommon creatures in this set, Haliya is one of the stronger ones. Both her abilities both enable and reward green/white's +1/+1 archetype in this set. First, she has an ETB and attack trigger that puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control. She can either put this on herself or on another creature you control. This means she has an immediate impact as soon as she ETBs. Next, her second ability rewards you for putting +1/+1 counters on your creatures. Whenever a creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it deals combat damage, you draw a card. Being able to draw cards is one of the most powerful things in TCGs because it increases your options.

Best Cards for Green/White in Edge of Eternities

Because green/white has a straightforward archetype in Edge of Eternities, this also reflects in its deckbuilding. Players building green/white should include cards that either put or reward having +1/+1 counters on your creatures. Thankfully, Edge of Eternities is full of green and white cards that do this. The following cards are some of the best common and uncommon cards for green/white. I'll also include some examples of higher rarity cards that are also great additions in green/white decks.

Meltstrider Eulogist, Starport Security, and Dual-Sun Adepts are three great creatures to include in Edge of Eternities green/white decks. Meltstrider Eulogist's provides green/white decks with card advantage if your creatures with +1/+1 counters die. Furthermore, it has great power and toughness for its cost making it a very efficient creature. Next, Star Port security has a powerful ability to tap another creature. This ability can be used to stop your opponent's most dangerous creatures from attacking, blocking, or activating their tap abilities. Also, it's activated ability cost less if you control a creature with a +1/+1 counter. This makes it synergize best in green/white decks which focus on +1/+1 counters. Last but not the least, Dual-Sun Adepts is one of the strongest creatures in green/white decks. It has double strike which effectively doubles the effects of any +1/+1 counters put on it. You can also use its activated ability to pump up your entire army if you have the mana to spare.

Best Non-Creature Spells to Include in Green/White

Biosynthic BurstMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

HonorMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

Dual-Sun TechniqueMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

Biosynthic Burst is the first non-creature spell I'd consider including when building green/white decks for Edge of Eternities limited. It's cheap combat trick that puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature, protects it, and untaps it. Next, Honor is another cheap non-creature spell that enables green/white's strategy and lets you draw a card too. Finally, Dual-Sun Technique let's your creatures hit twice as hard and is also card draw for green/white decks.

Best Higher Rarity Cards to Include in Green/White

Green/white has many powerful high rarity cards this set that you can include in your decks. If you pull any of these bombs, they're definitely a must-include in your green/white decks.

Cosmogrand ZenithMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

Dyadrine, Synthesis AmalgamMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

Among the higher rarity cards in Edge of Eternities, Ouroboroid is the best one to include in green/white decks. For simply existing on your board, this creature turbocharges putting +1/+1 counters on all of your creatures if unanswered. It's effective on the turn it enters and progressively puts more counters each turn it stays alive. If you buff it before your turn's combat, it can put a massive number of counters on your whole army.

Next, Cosmogrand Zenith is another great addition to green/white decks if you pull it. It requires you to cast two spells to trigger its effects, but both are useful for green/white's strategy. You can use Cosmogrand Zenith to either build your army or make it bigger with +1/+1 counters.

Finally, Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam is a green/white card to include in this color combination's decks. It enters with a minimum two +1/+1 counters on it, but you can also spend more mana to make it enter bigger. Furthermore, it has a powerful trigger for when you attack. It lets you convert the +1/+1 counters you've accumulated on your creatures into card draw and token generation.

This wraps up our deckbuilding guide for green/white in Edge of Eternities. Players who enjoy playing straightforward, creature-based strategies may want to consider playing this combination.
