How To Build a Red/Green Deck for Edge of Eternities Limited Formats

How To Build a Red/Green Deck for Edge of Eternities Limited Formats originally appeared on GameDaily .

In our Edge of Eternities pre-release deckbuilding guide , we covered each two-color combination's archetypes in this set. Now, this guide aims to give an in-depth look into building red/green decks for Edge of Eternities limited formats.

Red/Green - Landfall and Landers

In Edge of Eternities, the red/green archetype focuses on triggering landfall effects and creating lander tokens. The two things this combination wants to do work well together because lander tokens can be used to trigger landfall.

Signpost Uncommon

Tannuk, Memorial EnsignMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

The signpost uncommon for red/green in Edge of Eternities is Tannuk, Memorial Ensign, a legendary creature that's a Kavu pilot. Tannuk has a landfall ability that deals 1 damage to each opponent whenever a land you control enters the battlefield. Furthermore, if his landfall ability resolves for a second time in a single turn, you get to draw a card. Because of this, Tannuk is the perfect example of how the red/green archetype wants to play in Edge of Eternities. Basically, you play lands to trigger landfall, and you use lander tokens to get multiple landfall triggers in one turn.

Best Cards for Red/Green in Edge of Eternities

Building a red/green deck in Edge of Eternities is fairly simple. As much as possible, you'll want to include cards with landfall effects or cards that create lander tokens.

Best Creatures to Include in Red/Green

Galactic Wayfarer is the best common green creature to include in red/green decks. It has great stats and synergizes well with red/green's archetype by creating a lander token when it enters. Next, Terrapact Intimidator is another creature with a great ETB effect. When it enters, your opponents have to decide whether they'll let you create two lander tokens or not. Either way, you'll benefit because you either get a low cost 4/3 creature or two lander tokens to trigger landfall. Finally, Harmonious Grovestrider is one of the strongest uncommon creatures you can include in red/green decks. At a minimum, it will be a 5/5 creature with ward 2. From there, it will only grow bigger thanks to all the lander tokens you'll be using to ramp. This creature having ward 2 also makes it more difficult for your opponents to remove.

Best Non-Creature Spells to Include in Red/Green

Sami's CuriosityMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

Eusocial EngineeringMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

LithobreakingMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

If Galactic Wayfarer is the best common green creature for red/green decks, Sami's Curiosity is the best common sorcery. This cheap sorcery gains you two life and also creates a lander token to ramp and also help trigger landfall. Next, Eusocial Engineering is a powerful enchantment in landfall decks. This green enchantment makes you creature tokens whenever its landfall effect is triggered. Because of how many lander tokens you'll create in red/green, this enchantment can make you many robot tokens. Alternatively, it can also be warped prior to playing your land for turn and using your lander tokens. If you use it this way, it can make plenty of robots for you in a single turn. Finally, Lithobreaking is a strong instant to include in red/green decks. At worst, you only get a lander token from it. However, in the best-case scenario this card doubles as both a potential board wipe and a ramp card.

Best Higher Rarity Cards to Include in Red/Green

If you're lucky enough to pull any of these rare cards, they're great includes in red/green decks. All of the cards I'm including in this section are green. There aren't very many good rare red cards in this set to include in red/green decks.

Mightform HarmonizerMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

OuroboroidMythicSpoiler // Wizards of the Coast

First, Icetill Explorer is probably the rare with the most synergy in red/green decks. This creature lets you play an additional land to trigger landfall more times in one turn. It also lets you play land cards from your graveyard. Because of this, its milling landfall trigger doesn't really hurt red/green. It can be good for filtering your deck plus you can just play any land cards that you mill.

Next, Mightform Harmonizer is a whopper in red/green decks. If you can trigger its landfall effect multiple times at once, it'll make your creatures hit really hard. Finally, Ouroboroid doesn't exactly have any direct synergy with red/green's landfall strategy. However, it can quickly grow all your creatures to make your entire army hit harder.

This wraps up our guide on how to build red/green decks in Edge of Eternities. Hopefully this guide helps you if you're planning on building red/green in Edge of Eternities limited play.
