White/Black - Go Wide

The archetype for white/black in Edge of Eternities is going wide. In this set, white/black wants you to have as many creatures as you can on your battlefield. You can achieve this by playing smaller creatures or through making creature tokens. After building your army, white/black wants to buff its creatures' power then overwhelm opponents through sheer numbers.

Signpost Uncommon

Syr Vondam, the Lucent is the signpost uncommon for white/black in Edge of Eternities. While he has a fairly expensive mana cost, he has great stats, keywords, and a powerful ETB and attack trigger. Syr Vondam's ETB and attack trigger is a strong finisher because it buffs all of your other creatures' power. The more creatures you have on your battlefield, the stronger this effect becomes. Furthermore, Syr Vondam also gives all your other creatures deathtouch which lets them destroy their blockers regardless of their toughness.

Best Cards for White/Black in Edge of Eternities

When building a white/black deck in Edge of Eternities, you'll want to have as many creatures as you can. You can do this either through playing many cheap creatures or through playing cards that make creature tokens. I'll mostly include common and uncommon cards since you have a higher chance of pulling these in the limited format. However, I'll also include a few higher rarity cards to consider including if you pull them.

Best Creatures to Include in White/Black

Knight Luminary, Honored Knight-Captain, and Dual-Sun adepts are three of the best creatures to include in white/black decks. Knight Luminary and Honored Knight-Captain both create a creature token when they enter the battlefield. Also, Knight Luminary can be cast early for its warp cost and recast at a later turn. This means you can use it to make up to two creature tokens. On the other hand, Dual-Sun Adepts has good stats for its mana cost and the powerful double strike keyword. Additionally, you can activate its ability later to buff all creatures you control.

Best Non-Creature Spells to Include in White/Black

In general, spells that buff your creatures for combat are good in white/black decks. Zealous Display is one of the best combat tricks you can include in white/black decks. This spell buffs all of your creatures' power so they can hit harder. Also, it lets you untap your creatures if it's not your turn. This lets you surprise your opponents by letting you have blockers if they attack you while your creatures are tapped.

Next, Dual-Sun technique is another good combat trick since it gives one creature you control double strike. If you have a way to put a +1/+1 counter on that creature, you also draw a card.

Finally, Gravkill is the best removal spell you can add to white/black decks. It costs a lot of mana, but exiling any creature or spacecraft lets you remove your opponent's biggest threats.

Best Higher Rarity Cards to Include in White/Black

If you're lucky enough to pull any of the following higher rarity cards, considering including them in your white/black deck.

Lumen-Class Frigate is the best higher rarity card you can include in white/black decks for Edge of Eternities limited. This spacecraft has a cheap mana cost so you can get it out pretty early. Also, its first station ability is easy to activate and is strong because it buffs all your creatures. Being able to turn it into a creature with flying and lifelink is nice but isn't necessary.

Next, Elegy Acolyte is another good card to consider including. This card helps alleviate one of this color combination's weaknesses, which is card draw. Also, its Void ability helps you make creature tokens to make your army even bigger.

Finally, Thrumming Hivepool is the final higher rarity card I'm including in this guide. This artifact is pricey since there aren't any white or black slivers you can include. However, it makes you two sliver tokens to grow your army during your upkeep. Furthermore, the tokens it creates get double strike and haste so they can attack on the turn you get them. Combined with the other attack buffs you get from cards like Syr Vondam, these tokens can hit pretty hard.
