Cairn's Release Was Just Delayed to Q1 2026
As we near the release date of so many highly anticipated indie games, we face the unfortunate reality that sometimes, games get delayed at the one-yard line. Cairn is facing such a fate. This morning, team member Morgan officially announced the delay through the game's official Discord.
The Game Bakers are saying that the game just isn't where they want it to be, and they don't want to share the fate of so many other rushed games, and would rather postpone the release than publish a game with multiple game-breaking bugs. As much as I've repeated the phrase, "I'd rather the game be delayed than release unfinished", it somehow still stings every time a game I'm excited for gets delayed.
To hold us over, we'll be getting a special demo update that will populate the demo area with ghosts of community members, content creators, and staff to keep you company as you await the game's release.
At this point, I'm just praying Half Sword doesn't share the same fate...
