With so many of us out there dabbling in creative spaces online, the right piece of tech can make all the difference. Streaming and content creation in the video game space has become a juggernaut, a mix of different cables, wires, docks, capture cards, and so much more. The Chizha Mount Ling 2 Pro sets out to unify a number of those into one thing, simplifying workflows so that you can focus more on your content and less on the technology. They do that to relatively great effect, even if there are some areas where it could improve.

The Chizha Mount Ling 2 Pro aims to do quite a few different things; all rolled into one good-looking package. It's a dock, one that works a number of handhelds, including the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch 2. It's a capture card , hooking up to a PC to be able to easily record footage that you can edit later. It's an SSD, storing games to keep more space free on your handheld

Let's start with the actual physical dock itself, as it looks pretty cool. The plastic feels sturdy and premium, with rubber feet on the bottom to prevent it from moving around. The docking space is large, with a bottom made entirely of rubber, to make sure whatever handheld you slot in stays there safely. Both the Steam Deck and Switch 2, with case on, sat comfortably in the space. I never felt like they would tip or fall out, with the dock being large, with a wide base that provides that extra level of security. The Switch 2 dock always feels like it could tip over, not so with the Mount Ling 2 Pro.

The front of the dock has a 3.0" touch screen, which displays a bunch of information to help you catch issues before they even happen. From HDMI signal status, power and voltage, SSD information, to a wealth of settings including fan modes and USB information, the screen gives you all the information you could possibly need without even touching a PC. I've had many moments where using a capture card can be a frustrating experience as you just don't know what isn't working, and the read out here solves a lot of those issues. The screen is flanked by RGB-lit triangles that pull the whole feel of it together.

On the back come the actual connection inputs. The Mount Ling 2 Pro has a USB-C power slot, which supports up 100W charging, a second USB-C for 4K60Hz HDR Video Capture, two USB-A slots for additional inputs like controllers or keyboards, a third USB-C for connecting to the handheld, an audio optical port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. There are points of connection here to easily connect everything you possibly need, from capturing content by connecting to a PC, or even using a mouse and keyboard with the Steam Deck from farther away. There is also a Dock 2 variant that doesn't include the capture card functionality for those just looking for a multi-system doc

To round out the dock, it also includes a lighting button to turn on/off the screen and RGB lighting easily for those that want to leave it off after setting up. It has a multi-speed fan system and convection ducts to stay cool even after lengthy streams. The final piece of the puzzle is an M.2 SSD slot, up to a max of 4TB, where you can store more games. It won't do anything for a Switch or Switch 2, but for the PC handhelds , it's a game changer being able to easily access beefier games without tying up more limited space on the actual unit.

All of this combines together to make the Chizha Mount Ling 2 Pro a beast for content creators especially. It captures video cleanly and easily, with the HDR support making for video that actually looks proper and not washed out. Swapping between systems is easy, making bouncing back and forth between the Steam Deck and Switch 2 a breeze when trying to capture content. It also works great with the AYN Thor for those looking for those retro gaming experiences on the big screen

"…the Chizha Mount Ling 2 Pro is a solid switchblade for content creators. It rolls a number of disparate parts together, including a capture card, SSD enclosure, and multi-system compatibility, streamlining the content workflow immensely."

The only real issue with the Mount Ling 2 Pro is the actual set up. Using it with a PC handheld is simple, true plug-and-play that feels effortless. The Nintendo Switch 2 is a more precise ride, though. There are specific steps, including changing the HDMI display mode settings, and plugging/unplugging the power and PC connections in order before even plugging in the unit. Once it's set up for a given session, it works well, but I've had to repeat the steps multiple times when trying to set back up. It's quick to do, but the repetition can get frustrating.

On top of that, the Switch 2 specifically uses the bottom USB-C connection for its video output. The Mount Ling 2 Pro does actually adjust for this, with a divot running along the bottom of the docking slot to allow for a USB-C cable to run along the bottom and plug in. The issue is that you need a specific type of cable that can run and plug in as flat as possible, which the included USB-C cable does not. It would've been nice to have that actually in box rather than trying to source and find the right one, because without it, the Switch 2 ends up needing to be turned upside down to work prope

Thanks to how wide the base and console slot is, even upside down, the Switch 2 still does sit comfortably, it just looks a bit funny. These issues don't exist at all with the Steam Deck, which displays through the USB-C on top, but those looking to use the Mount Ling 2 Pro with Nintendo's consoles will need more than what's included to really get a good fit.

Overall, the Chizha Mount Ling 2 Pro is a solid switchblade for content creators. It rolls a number of disparate parts together, including a capture card, SSD enclosure, and multi-system compatibility, streamlining the content workflow immensely. It's become a standard part of my content creation process now, even if the Nintendo side of the equation does come with extra asterisks. For those looking for their next addition to the content tech ecosystem, the Chizha Mount Ling 2 Pro is an easy recommendation.
