Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Could Add Major Feature Missing From First Game

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that's dying for a multiplayer mode. However, those plans got abandoned after the disastrous launch of the game.

Luckily, the game was able to have a major comeback, and CD Projekt Red is now hard at work on a sequel. In fact, they are starting to post job listings for the game.

Fans took notice of a listing on CD Projekt Red's website that is looking for somebody who can "develop and optimize multiplayer systems, including matchmaking." This shouldn't be a surprise. CD Projekt Red has been open about wanting to offer multiplayer experiences.

That said, the hope is that it won't take away from the single-player experience. CD Projekt Red has been putting out some of the best single-player games ever, so the addition of multiplayer shouldn't hamper that.

Even as somebody who doesn't really play a lot of multiplayer games, it does sound fun to be able to play with others in Night City, or whatever Cyberpunk city will be featured in the second game.

It's a shame that it likely won't offer a co-op experience. We're likely looking at some deathmatch-style options, but they could take a page out of Grand Theft Auto's book and offer some missions you can do with others.
