Deadlock Apollo Abilities Explained

Apollo has recently become playable , making him the final hero from Deadlock's Old Gods, New Blood update to be released. He is a foreign exchange student from North Ixia that attends Blackmore Academy and uses his fencing skills in combat. Apollo is a spirit damage assassin with high mobility, whose burst abilities deal more damage if executed precisely.

The following are all of Apollo's abilities , an explanation of how each of them work, and what their upgrades are:

1 - Disengaging Sigil

Valve

Disengaging Sigil makes Apollo draw a star-shaped sigil then backflipping as it explodes, damaging and slowing enemies hit by it. When upgraded, this ability also increases his Fire Rate and Bullet Speed and can also restore Apollo's stamina on hit.

Disengaging Sigil is one of Apollo's many ways to reposition himself in fights and is his primary ability for escaping. This ability's slow, combined with the stamina restore at higher upgrades, makes it easier to find new angles of attack.

2 - Riposte

Valve

Next, Riposte is Apollo's second ability and another way that he can protect himself when he dives into the fight. Riposte makes Apollo brandish his sword around, which will deflect the next attack or ability that would otherwise hit him. If he manages to successfully Riposte an attack, he'll lunge forward and perform a dash that will stun an enemy. Additionally, the enemy hit by Riposte's lunge attack will also suffer from reduced bullet resist for a couple of seconds.

Riposte is extremely powerful because it can be used to completely negate an opponent's crowd control or their burst ability. Additionally, the stun on a successful Riposte opens up an opportunity for Apollo to burst down the enemy that's stunned.

3 - Flawless Advance

Valve

Apollo's third ability, Flawless Advance, is his primary engage tool. This ability makes him charge up to perform a dash. If you release the charge in the perfect window, indicated when it turns green, this ability deals its maximum damage. Additionally, Flawless Advance can be recast up to three times, allowing Apollo to deal some serious burst damage with it.

When upgraded, Flawless Advance will also heal him on a perfect hit, has reduced cooldown, and increased speed and distance. If you're holding down a direction button, Apollo will briefly leap to the direction he's moving in before charging up. Flawless Advance's mobility is great for both repositioning in fights and quickly bursting down enemy targets with its three strikes.

4 - Itani Lo Sahn

Finally, Apollo's ultimate is Itani Lo Sahn, which makes him charge up before dashing to deal devastating damage against enemies. The enemies that are hit will also be cursed and will suffer another burst of damage after a short duration. If an enemy is at half-health or below, they'll take additional damage from the delayed burst. At higher levels, this ability has increased range, lower cooldown, and deals more bonus damage.

Apollo's ultimate is a fantastic finishing ability with a wide area of effect, making it easy to hit multiple enemies at once with it. Additionally, this ability can also be used to help Apollo reposition as he hunts down his foes.

This wraps up the explanation of how Apollo's abilities work. He combines high burst damage and high mobility to become one of the most fun assassins Deadlock has released so far. Furthermore, the precise timings needed to maximize his damage, and survivability makes him live up to the fencer fantasy quite well.
