Deadlock Silver Abilities Revealed

The third community vote of Deadlock 's Old Gods, New Blood update resulted in Silver becoming the game's latest playable character . Silver's lore described her as a misanthropic lycanthrope who makes a living as a bounty hunter living in New York. She has two different skill sets that will change depending on whether she's in her human or her werewolf form.

1 - Slam Fire / Go for the Throat

Valve

In her human form, Silver's first ability is Slam Fire. This ability makes Silver instantly reload her gun and grants her bonus fire rate. Additionally, her next three attacks will deal bonus damage based on the target's health. However, Silver will have reduced weapon accuracy while Slam Fire is active.

Slam Fire is Silver's primary method of dealing burst damage while she's in her human form. If players can hit all of the shots, this ability can quickly shred opponent's life totals. Moreover, this ability can be used to quickly reload Silver's rifle while mid-combat so she can keep fighting. However, the reduced accuracy while this ability is active means it's most effective when Silver is in close range. Higher levels in this ability get reduced cooldown and increase damage.

Valve

When Silver is in her werewolf form, Slam Fire becomes Go for the Throat. This ability attacks all enemies in a cone in front of Silver and heals her for a portion of the damage dealt. Go for the Throat is how Silver sustains herself in combat while she's a werewolf. It's important to try to hit as many enemies as you can with this to get higher healing values. Additionally, this ability deals more damage against enemies at lower health, making this a potent finisher.

2 - Boot Kick / Mauling Leap

Valve

Boot Kick is Silver's engage tool as a human. This ability makes her dash forward and then somersault away upon hitting an enemy. The enemy hit by this ability will get marked. Afterwards, the mark can be consumed upon hitting an enemy to deal bonus spirit damage.

At higher levels, this ability can restore some stamina and debilitate the enemy. As a result, this ability can be used to debilitate enemies while restoring stamina to reposition in combat.

Valve

As a werewolf, Boot Kick becomes Mauling Leap. Like Boot Kick, this ability is how Silver engages enemies while in wolf form. The enemy hit will take initial damage, receive a DoT, and become more vulnerable to physical attacks.

3 - Entangling Bola / Tail Whack

Valve

Silver has crowd control in the form of Entangling Bola. This ability slows enemies and prevents them from using movement abilities, jumping, or dashing with stamina. Entangling Bola is a great way to set up kills because it disables movement. As a result, this can almost guarantee kills even against mobile enemies if you have teammates who can help you take advantage of this window of opportunity.

When maxed out, Silver can disable multiple opponents at once which adds to this ability's utility.

Valve

Tail Whack is Silver's third ability in her werewolf form. Similar to Entangling Bola, it's Silver's crowd control ability. However, instead of disabling movement, Tail Whack instead disarms opponents hit. This is a great follow up to Mauling Leap because it prevents enemies from striking back against Silver when she jumps in. Additionally, the slow helps Silver stay on top of her prey.

4 - Lycan Curse

Finally, Silver's ultimate ability is Lycan Curse, which is how she transforms from human to werewolf. This ability cannot be activated at will. Instead, Silver gains Bloodlust when she damages her opponents. After her Bloodlust reaches a certain threshold, she'll transform into her werewolf form.

Silver's werewolf form makes her more durable and increases her speed. At higher levels, Silver gets increased durability. Additionally, at its highest level this ability refreshes Silver's werewolf abilities and increases the transformation's duration when she gets kills.
