Publisher Secret Mode and indie studio Odd Dreams Digital have revealed Everything is Crab , a quirky animal evolution roguelite set to release in 2026on PC via Steam. Players can dive in early with a free Steam Playtest available now.

In Everything is Crab , you begin as an amorphous blob fighting to survive against predators and the harsh natural world. As you adapt, you'll unlock over 100 real-world inspired evolutions that fuse into wild, chimera-like forms. Whether you play as a ruthless hunter or a peaceful plant-eater, every run is a battle against carcinisation—the natural tendency of animals to evolve into crabs.

A World Full of Danger and Discovery

The game features a dynamic ecosystem with day/night cycles and diverse biomes, including frozen tundras, deserts, and ocean depths. Along the way, players will face giant enemy bosses, each requiring careful strategy to defeat.

Runs don't end at death—new genetic traits carry over, allowing you to grow stronger with each attempt. Optional challenge scenarios, like surviving an Ice Age, push survival instincts to the limit.

First Game from Odd Dreams Digital

Everything is Crab marks the debut of Odd Dreams Digital, a Malmö-based studio whose motto, "Find the odd" , reflects its mission to bring a playful twist to established genres. Publisher Secret Mode continues its award-winning streak of supporting unique indie projects, following successes like Still Wakes the Deep and A Little to the Left .
