Fallout Co-Creator Has Amazing Idea for Next Game in Franchise

Fallout is one of the most popular video game franchises in the world, and it's only getting more popular with the recent success of the Prime Video series. However, the future of the games is in flux.

While Bethesda is almost certainly working on Fallout 5, nobody has any idea when it might come out. In the meantime, series co-creator Tim Cain has some ideas for what he'd like to see for the franchise in the future.

"But without going into details," Cain told The Vile Eye, "the one thing I always wished in a Fallout game was an actual good faction. Like 100% good. They're just growing food and making shelters and looking for old tech and maybe looking for old medicine, and they're really trying to help people. What I wanted them written as is how they have to deal with all the suspicion from all the other factions and from the player."

Cain has no say over Fallout anymore, but Bethesda would be wise to listen to his ideas. This is actually a very good idea for a Fallout subplot. We kind of saw this in the TV series when our main characters go to Vault 4, only to find that it has some weird quirks, but the people actually mean well.

In the games, they could definitely expand on this idea. It also gives you some interesting moral dilemmas, which is what makes Fallout great.

"Fallout trains you that everything's gray," Cain said. "That the good side has done some bad stuff and the bad side is not quite as bad. … I just thought that would be an interesting thing to try to explore. I'm not even sure if it could be explored since a theme of Fallout is 'power corrupts.' So wouldn't whoever is in charge of this faction be a little corrupt? But it would still be interesting to try to do that."
