New Forgotten Realms DLC Coming Exclusively to D&D Beyond originally appeared on GameDaily .

Wizards of the Coast is trying something new for their upcoming Dungeons & Dragons releases. Alongside the two sourcebooks Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn and Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn, the publisher will release exclusive downloadable content through D&D Beyond. This marks one of the rare times Wizards has offered standalone digital tie-ins rather than simply digital versions of existing print material.

The DLC has only been teased so far, with few specifics confirmed. The one title revealed, Astarion's Book of Hungers, focuses on urban vampire adventures and features Astarion, the fan‑favorite character from Baldur's Gate 3. It's unclear if more DLC pieces are planned or how substantial they'll be—page counts, pricing, and whether these will be free with pre-orders or sold separately haven't been detailed yet.

What we do know is timing: the two main Forgotten Realms books are scheduled for November 11, 2025, so these digital add-ons will likely launch around the same window. If so, it would be the first major DLC drop on D&D Beyond since the Dragonlance Monstrous Compendium back in 2022.

While this approach is new for the brand, it could signal a broader shift in how Wizards promotes upcoming books—offering small, focused digital expansions to draw more attention to bigger releases.
