Schreier noted that the new game is whatGuerrilla Gameshas been working on. When asked if the development team was just a small offshoot of the studio, Schreier noted it was "most of the studio."

Another fan then asked if this meant fans could assume that a third mainline Horizon game wouldn't be expected to launch for "a long time" in that case. Schreier then confirmed that with a simple "Yup." While the news isn't exactly surprising, this gives us a more concrete acknowledgement that a third Horizon game likely won't be ready until at least 2028 or beyond, when it'll likely be time for Sony to reveal the sixth PlayStation.

The Horizon franchise has been a massively successful one for Sony. Originally launching in 2017 withHorizon Zero Dawn, the series follows the stories of Aloy, a huntress living in a post-apocalyptic world that is overrun by robots in the form of dinosaurs and other animals.
