Ludogram, the studio behind the niche but acclaimed titles of Worlds of Aria and Firebird , has just unveiled Invokyr , a multiplayer game about surviving a deadly haunted house. The main premise is that you and up to three other players need to play an evil board game, with the dangers being randomized with each encounter.

The whole theme of the game is centered around the board game aesthetic: you fight monsters with giant dice, with different game-changing effects: some stun your pursuers, while others can heal your teammates. The goal is to avoid death while trying to reach the exit of the ever-changing manor, although it seems only one of the players needs to make it out to win.

The main Jumanji comparison, other than this being a cursed board game, is the hunter that can be summoned as one of the game's enemies. It is unclear if other Jumanji staples, like the animal stampede, will make it into the game, but the hunter alone is enough of a threat: a shotgun can reach you faster than any crawling plant can.

We still need to wait for more details of Invokyr to be released, but considering Ludogram's track record with small, well polished games, we can expect this one to be no different.
