League of Legends Patch 25.18 Rundown

League of Legends recently received its Patch 25.18 update. In this patch, there were many champions who received buffs, nerfs, and adjustments. Furthermore, some systems adjustments in the form of item adjustments were also implemented. Lastly, in League of Legends Patch 25.18, T1's Worlds skins, which celebrates them winning Worlds 2024, are released this patch. The following are some of the most notable changes from League of Legends' latest patch.

League of Legends Patch 25.18 HighlightsRiot Games

Champion Buffs

In League of Legends Patch 25.18, each of the buffs implemented were relatively mild. However, Amumu, Jayce, and Vel'Koz received what could be considered to be the most impactful buffs.

For Amumu, he received some buffs that will help him when he's played in the support role. The cooldown of Amumu's Bandage Toss has been lowered at later ranks and the mana cost has also been reduced. Following this, Jayce received buffs in the form of his Shock Blast dealing more damage at earlier levels. This should help Jayce's early game out so he can better bully opponents and get early leads. Lastly, Vel'Koz received significant buffs in the form of his Tectonic Disruption getting a huge cooldown buff at all levels. Additionally, Vel'Koz' Life Form Disintegration Ray now deals more damage at later levels.

Champion Nerfs

Among the champions who received a nerf in this patch, Yunara received the most significant nerfs. Her Kanmei's Steps received a significant nerf to the bonus movement speed it provides. Previously, it provided 50% up to 70% bonus movement speed based on its rank. Now, it only provides 30% scaling up to 50% bonus movement speed based on rank. Additionally, the duration of this ability's movement speed buff is now a flat 1.5 seconds at all ranks. This change was made to curb Yunara's potency in pro play, where she's been one of the more popular marksmen since her debut.

Other than Yunara, other champions who received considerable nerfs was Aurora and Qiyana. For Aurora, the base damage dealt by her passive has been reduced but in exchange, it has better scaling. This change should help curb some of her early lane dominance. On the other hand, Qiyana has been dominant as a jungler and a mid-laner because of her prior buffs. In this patch, her base damage, armor growth, and scaling of her passive were reduced.

Systems Changes

The following are the notable systems changes introduced in League of Legends Patch 25.18. Here, I'll be including the item changes and other miscellaneous systems changes that were introduced.

Game Info Tracking Improvements

First among the system changes implemented this patch are improvements to the new death recap. Not only did it receive a visual touch up, but it can also be moved again. Additionally, the damage type pie chart has been reintroduced.

Item Changes

Bami's Cinder, Sunfire Cape, and Mercurial Scimitar received adjustments in this patch. Now, Bami's Cinder has higher percent up on monsters going from 50% amp to 100%. This change should make it more competitive against Fated Ashes in clear speed. Sunfire Cape received a similar buff.

In the case of Mercurial Scimitar, the item now gives 10 more attack damage. Also, the duration of its active movement speed buff now lasts for two seconds. However, it gives five less magic resistance now.

Doom Bots

In League of Legends Patch 25.18, a new Trials of Doom will be implemented in Doom Bots. The new Trials of Doom implemented is called Veigar's Curse, where both the players and bots can level up to 30. However, the bots have an advantage wherein they get 100% bonus experience from all sources. Players can offset this disadvantage by purchasing Veigar's Talisman of Ascension. This item gives players who have it the same experience bonus but provides no stats in return. However, the item will transform into something powerful if a player hits level 30 with it.

Skins
