Lessaria: Fantasy Kingdom Sim Revives Majesty-Style RTS with New Spin

Lessaria: Fantasy Kingdom Sim is an upcoming strategy title from Rockbee Team and publisher Polden Publishing, set to arrive October 24, 2025, on PC via Steam. The game channels the spirit of Majesty by offering indirect control over heroes, city-building elements, and tactical kingdom defense.

What Lessaria Aims to Be

In Lessaria, you don't issue direct commands to your heroes every moment. Instead, you build infrastructure, hire heroes, set bounties, design incentives, and they respond according to their own AI personalities. That indirect control model is part of what made Majesty memorable, and Lessaria promises to evolve that model.

The game offers both a campaign mode and a sandbox mode for players who prefer relaxed kingdom building without pressure. Alongside managing buildings, the economy, and resources, you also send heroes on missions, defend your kingdom from invading monsters, and watch your domain grow—ideally with fewer frustrations than classic RTS titles.

Features & Innovations

Some design changes and additions set Lessaria apart:

  • Heroes have more detailed stats, perks, and traits. For example, early playtest feedback suggests heroes might acquire long-lasting personality traits based on experiences (for better or worse).

  • A new combat system is in the works, one that builds on what Majesty did but introduces new tactics, perhaps more variation in mission structure and enemy design.

  • The game supports multiple languages (Steam page lists English plus eleven more), with Steam Achievements, cloud saves, and leaderboards also confirmed.

What Playtests Show

Early impressions from testers highlight both promise and areas for improvement. Visually and tonally, Lessaria captures that cozy but strategic feel—where you build buildings, manage your economy, create incentives so heroes wander out on adventures or defend your realm on their own.

On the flip side, some testers see potential issues: hero deaths can hit hard (since there's no traditional healer class in some missions), monster attacks sometimes feel unpredictable or overly harsh, especially in sandbox or later campaign sections. Balancing will likely be a key concern.

What to Watch

For players who loved Majesty or Majesty 2, Lessaria is one of the few modern attempts to revisit that indirect-control, hero-led RTS niche. It doesn't try to clone those games exactly, but it leans into nostalgia sensibly while adding quality-of-life improvements and modern polish.

What will be especially important after launch are balance (making sure heroes feel meaningful but not overwhelming), difficulty (ensuring monster threats feel fair), and how satisfying it is to watch your kingdom grow organically rather than being micromanaged. The game's release in late October gives just enough time to see if recent playtests' feedback is reflected in the final product.
