One of the major highlights of the Six One Indie Showcase was No Straight Roads 2 , the eagerly anticipated sequel to Metronomik's musical action game. The team revealed a new trailer and fielded developer commentary, promising bigger battles, deeper rhythm-driven combat, and additional playable characters.

Back in the spotlight are Mayday and Zuke, the rocker protagonists attempting to reclaim their world's creative voice through music. According to Executive Producer Idir Alexander Ould Braham, NSR2 builds on the spirit of its predecessor—"same soul, higher craft"—with more readable gameplay, better pacing, and greater combat variety. The sequel is intended for PC and consoles, though no firm release date was announced at the showcase.

One exciting new development is the addition of two new playable bandmates, each bringing a distinct musical style and combat flavor to the roster. This signals a broader shift away from a duo-centric model toward a more ensemble cast. The trailer showed stylized visuals, rhythm engagements, and the trademark blending of music and action that defined the original.

While No Straight Roads 2 doesn't revolutionize the formula, it leans into refinement over reinvention. If the improvements to pacing, clarity, and musical combat land as promised, it may answer many criticisms the first game faced while pushing its stage-smashing ambitions even further.
