Palworld to Hit Version 1.0 in 2026, Focuses on Polish Over New Content

Palworld Official Card Game Announced As Pocketpair Keeps Pushing Past Nintendo’s Playbook
Palworld to Hit Version 1.0 in 2026, Focuses on Polish Over New Content

Developer Pocketpair has announced that Palworld , its open-world creature-collection survival game, will officially leave Early Access and release version 1.0 in 2026. The full launch is being positioned as a major milestone, with a "massive amount of content" in the works—but not before the team spends substantial time cleaning up existing bugs, optimizing systems, and addressing what they describe as "quirks and jank."

What Players Can Expect Before the Full Launch

For the rest of 2025, major content updates will take a backseat. While a Winter update is planned, it's being adjusted to be smaller than previous large updates like Feybreak. Pocketpair says there will still be "a few surprises" and sneak peeks at what 1.0 will include.

Development isn't slowing—despite quieter periods, the studio emphasizes it is working steadily toward delivering both polish and new experiences. The full version aims to smooth out rough edges, improve stability, and refine gameplay systems so that the version players get at 1.0 feels more solid.

Why the Delay & What's Being Fixed

Since entering Early Access in January 2024, Palworld has had several major content drops—new mechanics, islands, Pals, raids, cross-play, and collaborations. But feedback from players has also highlighted performance issues, graphical glitches, bugs, and mechanics that feel unrefined. Pocketpair's latest statement says they want to remove or reduce many of these issues before the full launch.

1.0 & Beyond

The upcoming 1.0 update isn't a sideshow—it's being framed as a major milestone. Players can expect a lot more than just bug fixes: Pocketpair is promising new content, new features, and surprises to mark the full launch. However, they have not announced a specific date yet.

Alongside the 1.0 push, the studio is also working on new projects via smaller internal teams, and expanding its role in publishing. Palworld remains the primary focus, but Pocketpair seems intent on diversifying its portfolio.

Palworld's move toward version 1.0 reflects a pattern seen in successful Early Access titles: pause big content drops temporarily to shore up stability and polish, then hit the full launch harder. For players, that likely means smoother performance, fewer bugs, and a more cohesive experience. On the flip side, those hoping for rapid feature expansion this year may have to settle for smaller updates and previews.

Still, with "massive content" planned and a clear commitment to quality, 1.0 could give Palworld the strong foundation and reputation it's long aimed for. Fans will want to keep an eye on early 2026, and especially Pocketpair's hints about what new surprises will arrive when the game officially launches.
