Is the PlayStation network down? Users indicate problem

If you're having problems signing on to the PlayStation Network, you're not alone.

According to the website downdetector.com , users have ben struggling with the service since about 4 p.m.

The bulk of the issues, or 59 percent, were with the website. Another 29 percent were having problems connecting to the server and 12 percent indicated game play was the issue.

While there were only 500 reports of issues, it was a popular discussion on social media with people complaining about problems.

The network launched in 2006, when it was originally conceived for the PlayStation video game consoles. Since, it's been extended to encompass smartphones, tablets, Blu-ray players and high-definition televisions.
