Every month, subscribers to the PlayStation Plus "Essential" tier gain access to a handful of games, and August 2025 is no different. In a PlayStation Blog post, the trio of games were revealed, all of which will be available to subscribers on August 5. In addition to the games, August 5 will see the addition of PSN avatar images as part of the 15th anniversary celebration, featuring such games as Twisted Metal, God of War, Cyberpunk 2077, and more. Anyway, here are the trio of PS Plus games being added to the service:
Lies of P
Neowiz
The big one this month is Lies of P, just in time for the recent release of its critically-acclaimed Overture DLC add-on. Lies of P wears its From Software inspiration on its sleeve, with blisteringly difficult combat featuring intricate 'dodge-and-counter' mechanics. The story is a twisted retelling of the Pinocchio story, but with way more blood and violence, and plenty of twists for fans of the original Carlo Collodi story and its many adaptations.
DayZ
Bohemia Interactive
DayZ started out as a mod for Arma 2 before becoming its own thing, a multiplayer survival game where players have to deal with zombie hordes, gas attacks, grizzly bears, and other players. The PlayStation 4 version of DayZ launched in 2019, which makes it one of the older games being released on PlayStation Plus, but if you've got some friends on the same server, it's still well worth a try, provided your friendship can survive an inevitable virtual betrayal.
My Hero One's Justice 2

Always bet on anime. Based on the hit manga and anime series, My Hero Academia, One's Justice 2 features kinetic arena-based combat for up to four players. If you've already put hundreds of hours into Super Smash Brothers and Power Stone and want to mix things up with some anime stylings, you could do much worse than this.
