Pokémon Winds and Waves announced on Pokémon Day 2026
GHENT, WV (WVNS) — Pokémon Day 2026 brought many announcements to eager fans but possibly the most anticipated and exciting was the official announcement of Pokémon Winds and Waves.
This next generation title was rumored across social media platforms to be the big announcement for the Pokemon Presents, but now it has officially been confirmed.

While we don't know much about the titles as of yet, we do know the starters – a bit of information we don't always get with title announcements. Browt will be the grass starter. This pokémon is the bean chick pokémon. It's ability will be, perhaps predictably, overgrow. Gecqua will be the water starter. Gecqua is the water gecko pokémon and will have the ability torrent. Last but certainly by no means least we have the puppy pokémon Pombon! Pombon will have the blaze ability.

Another thing we know is that the protagonist's outfit will change color depending on the version you're playing. The style of hat you wear will also differ.
There is something to note for those of you who don't have a Switch 2 yet – these titles are exclusive to that console. So, if you want to play…you'll have to get a Switch 2 before the simultaneous worldwide release in 2027.
