Resident Evil Requiem's release date is imminent — here's when you can play

It's been a long time coming for Resident Evil fans — not counting remasters and remakes, the last mainline entry in Capcom's legendary horror game series was 2021's Resident Evil Village — but Resident Evil Requiem , AKA Resident Evil 9, is finally almost here.

As I write this, the new Raccoon City-based adventure starring none other than the beloved Leon Kennedy and new protagonist Grace Ashcroft is less than two days away from its arrival on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PS5.

Ahead of launch, it's reviewed exceptionally well , with Windows Central's own Jez Corden calling it "an epic showcase of Resident Evil's best action and survival horror traditions" in his review .

The game's impressive critical reception and high Metacritic scores have fueled hype for the long-awaited title as its release date approaches, and naturally, that means tons of Resident Evil fans want to know exactly when they can play Requiem in their region. Luckily, Capcom has recently announced everything there is to know about its release date and launch times, all of which you can view below:

The above graphic ( posted by Capcom itself ) and table show precisely when Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to come out around the world, and includes the game's release date as well as different launch times for different platforms in every major time zone (use this time zone converter if you don't see yours).

In most regions, Requiem is slated to release on console on February 27 at midnight local time, while the game comes out on PC at the same time globally on February 26 at 9 p.m. PST / February 27 at midnight EST. One exception to the former is the console rollout in PST, which is scheduled for 9 p.m. instead of midnight.

Others include the release timing for Nintendo Switch 2 specifically in both CST and BRT. Instead of coming out at midnight in these regions like it is on Xbox and PlayStation, Resident Evil Requiem is dropping on Switch 2 at February 26, 11 p.m. and February 27, 2 a.m. in CST and BRT, respectively.

How about preloading? If you've preordered the digital version of Resident Evil Requiem on any of its platforms, you can preload the game nowso that you can jump in right away once the game unlocks in your time zone. I recommend doing this if you have the bandwidth for it, as it's never fun to stare at a download bar on launch day when you could be playing.

Even though release is less than two days away, you can still preorder to take advantage of preloading. Note that Resident Evil Requiem is available for $69.99 on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2, with Loaded offering a sweet deal that brings the Steam version down to $59.99 at Loaded .

Resident Evil Requiem represents another win in what could be one of Capcom's best product slates in recent memory. Play as action-stalwart Leon and horror-shy Grace in another bio-terror conspiracy that threatens to upend the entire world.
