Prime members now have access to one of the highest-profile titles to reach Amazon Luna in recent memory. Star Wars: Galactic Racer launched this week across PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the title is also available to stream on Amazon Luna, where Prime subscribers can run through the entire single-player campaign at no additional cost.
The game sells for $60 on the other platforms.
What Prime members get
Galactic Racer comes from Fuse Games, a studio built by developers who previously worked on Burnout and Need for Speed. Players take the role of Shade, a lone racer competing in an underground racing circuit set in the years after the Empire's collapse during the New Republic era.
The game features a roster of vehicles that includes landspeeders and speeder bikes alongside a new skim speeder and the iconic podracer, and each carries distinct handling styles that change how a race plays out.
On Luna, Prime members receive the complete campaign in addition to the Arcade and Scenario modes. Arcade offers short, objective-based challenges, while Scenarios feature longer runs that mix up the rules, characters, and vehicle configurations. Online multiplayer is not part of the free offering; racing real opponents requires buying the game outright.
Amazon describes the title as "a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim," set during the New Republic era and built around the Galactic League, "a high-stakes underground racing circuit where rival racers, dangerous courses, and powerful syndicates collide." Luna is accessible through the web, but a Prime membership is required to access Galactic Racer and get the most out of the service.
How the streaming version stacks up
Galactic Racer carries an 88 on Metacritic, placing it among the best-reviewed Star Wars games. Kotaku's review described the Luna stream as visibly coarser than the console and PC builds, pointing to blurry textures and visual pop-in, though it reported that input lag did not pose a problem during testing.
Luna is a low-commitment way to sample the game, with the sharper console or PC versions offering the full experience. Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale runs through October 7, a window for discounted hardware or the game itself.
