The Monday Night War Edition was unveiled during Saturday Night's Main Event from Montreal's Bell Centre, one night after the Attitude Era Edition reveal on SmackDown. The cover leans into WWF vs. WCW imagery, featuring nWo members alongside names like Booker T, Goldberg, and Eric Bischoff to underline the "channel-flipping" era between Raw and Nitro.
Commentary on the broadcast framed it as the edition with "the most content" of any version of WWE 2K26, signaling it will stack additional arenas, superstars, and mode content on top of the base game. A short reveal trailer showcased nWo branding and classic Monday night presentation flourishes, setting expectations that Monday Night War-era storylines and invasions will be a core focus of this package.
Preorders for the Monday Night War Edition open January 30, in lockstep with the Attitude Era Edition, giving players a clear choice between two nostalgia-heavy premium SKUs at the same starting point.

WWE and 2K formally announced the Attitude Era Edition on SmackDown, revealing a star-studded collage cover dominated by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin with major players like The Rock, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Kane, Kurt Angle, Chyna, Trish Stratus, Lita, Stephanie McMahon, and The Dudley Boyz.
The first Attitude-themed trailer leans hard into late-1990s chaos, spotlighting iconic moments like The Undertaker vs. Mankind's Hell in a Cell match and heavily featuring Austin, signaling he's at the center of the edition's content. Analysis of the teaser notes a strong DX presence (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) plus heavy representation from the late-1990s to early-2000s transition period, setting up potential crossover with Ruthless Aggression-era storytelling in Showcase or bonus modes.
The game's logo and Attitude Edition branding are already driving speculation that the Hardcore Championship and more violent match types will be highlighted as part of this package. Preorders for the Attitude Era Edition also go live January 30, with this version positioned as the nostalgia flagship aimed at players who grew up on Austin, Rock, and the original Hell in a Cell era.
Release Details Everything We Know So Far
2K has confirmed WWE 2K26 is slated to launch within Take-Two's fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, with multiple outlets and internal guidance pointing to an early-to-mid March release, likely in a similar window to WWE 2K25's March 14 date.
The current messaging suggests the usual staggered rollout: standard edition on the main launch day, with Deluxe/Collector editions (including Attitude Era and Monday Night War content bundles) likely receiving three-day early access as in recent years.
Commentary from on-air talent and gaming press frames the Attitude Era and Monday Night War packages as central pillars for this year's game, alongside a separate CM Punk-fronted Showcase mode and an expanded modern roster that includes multiple established names plus newer acts such as Myles Borne and Zaria.
Pre-orders are available on January 30th, so if you have not already, I would circle that date on the calendar. WWE 2K26 looks set to be one of the best blasts from the past experiences that we have seen in a while. Stay tuned in for more content on all things WWE 2K26.
